Definitely worth the €9 entry. The trail stairs and bridges one-way up the breathtaking narrow gorge are well maintained. The posted warning about being difficult for persons with bad knees is most relevant for the way down via a steep maintenance road. About 300 meters in elevation gain, 1.5 hrs round trip.

We have visited in August 2025. Amazing gorge, well maintained, lush green and full of water. Also suitable for kids, if they are used to short hikes.

Beautiful place, we went first thing in the morning waiting a bit for them to open so we were there alone but when we finish lots of people were already behind us. It is a popular place. Walk is wet from water so take a proper shoes and be careful.

A beautiful hike through the Raggaschlucht in September! We were there early in the morning and had plenty of time to explore. Good/hike footwear is recommended, as it can be a bit slippery. It's not recommended for small children or dogs, as the noise can be quite loud! We experienced this with our dog; he was a bit nervous at some parts during the hike. But we made it, and it was definitely worth it!

What an incredible experience! My hike at Raggaschlucht was unforgettable. According to my activity tracker, I covered 2.60 miles with an elevation gain of 1,197 ft in 58 minutes and 54 seconds. Parking was free, but as you follow the signs up, you'll encounter a ticket office with restrooms and a souvenir shop housed in containers. The signage is excellent, so you can't miss it. Entry is €9 per person, and it's absolutely worth it to witness the spectacular gorge. The wooden boardwalks are impressively sturdy, yet it's truly astounding how they've been constructed along such towering rock faces. With the recent rain, the waterfalls were powerful and the water flow incredibly strong, making for an even more dramatic sight. Austria has many beautiful gorges, but each has its own unique character, and Raggaschlucht is certainly no exception – it was truly wondrous! The restrooms were clean and free to use, which is always a plus. Do note that the hiking trail is one-way only. The return downhill is quite steep, so if you have knee concerns, a pair of foldable hiking poles would be invaluable for the descent. This geological trail also offers fascinating insights into the region's history, from the swift incision of the gorge by water and ice to the ancient rock movements and the formation of the Alps millions of years ago. It's a fantastic blend of natural beauty and geological education. Highly recommend adding this to your Austrian itinerary!

A truly wonderful place. The views are just stunning, there are some information boards along the way with interesting scientific facts about the gorge. It takes about 90 minutes for the return journey. Do wear good boots, as there are some steep climbs (and descents). It's possible to buy the tickets online, but there is no advantage really as you still need to wait in line to have the QR code scanned at the ticket office.

What a wonderfull place! Takes 15 minutes from the parking lot to reach the entrance. A small souvenir shop with a LOVELY Anita, who takes care of the returning wonderers. The gorge is reasonably manageble for those, who like to hike. Safe trail, charming waterfalls and roaring rock-steps. I strongly recommend everybody, who has legs and healthy heart. ;)
